The Wax Jacket Edit

I lived on a farm my whole childhood and have such strong memories of our porch being full of wax jackets, ready to be thrown on and taken on an adventure. I remember so vividly pulling on a huge, old, oversized Barbour jacket and going running off to the milking parlour to take Dad a fresh cup of tea and biscuits.

I'd end up spending the day running around the farm, getting stuck in with Dad and then off in to the woods to explore with my brothers...Let's just say, the wax jackets went through a hell of a lot, but they are still here to tell the tale, some must be over 40 years old.

Now all grown up and living in London, I find my wax jacket such a comfort blanket. I bought this Rydale Clothing one around 10 years ago now.

It's a more boxy version of the classic field coat I wore as a child. I find this modern take on a classic allows me to fit this little country comfort blanket in to my London life, without feeling like I'm sticking out like a sore thumb.

There's so many out there to choose from at the moment. I've pulled together a few of my favourite for you below.

Here's how I styled mine:

I'd love to hear some of your stories about those classic old waxed jackets I'm sure so many of you had hanging at the back door whilst growing up.

Have a wonderful evening

Pip
