Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival 2017

We have a full week off work and I’m oh so excited!

We’re trying to be good and save money, so we have opted to pop back up to Suffolk and use my parents cottage as base for the week. The plan is to go off exploring all the tourist things we never normally get round to doing when we go home for just a weekend.

First stop, The Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival

Firstly, if you haven’t been to Snape Maltings then you must!

It's full of all things foodie, interiors, antiques and crafts. However, for the last few days it has been transformed in to The Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival.

I couldn’t quite count them myself, but I have been told there are over 90 food and drink producers from all over Suffolk, showing off their products. We tasted and drank so much it’s really hard to pic out my favourites.

From fruit and veg, butchers, bakers and artisan coffee producers, every corner of Snape Maltings was full of delicious local produce. In a way, it makes you really proud to come from an area that cares so much about the food we put on our plates.

It’s not all about tasting and filling your shopping bags though. Throughout the 2 day event there are cooking demonstrations, masterclasses and if you’re not in too much of a food coma, then Saturday night sees Snape Maltings turn in to a nostalgic seaside experience, with vintage seaside entertainment and seaside themed local delicacies.

We came, we ate, we conquered!
